Arc Raiders just received a huge update! Following a strong launch, the developers at Embark Studios are adding a new map, two new enemy types, and several new weapons and ways to play. It’s a lot of new content so soon after release, so let’s take a closer look at what’s changed.

What’s new in Arc Raiders’ North Line update
The Arc Raiders’ North Line update brings a lot of fresh content, headlined by the new Stella Montis map. But that’s not all – here’s a rundown of everything included in the update.
New map and community unlock event
A new map called Stella Montis has been added to the game, joining the original four. Described as a cold, beautiful place holding the echoes of humanity’s failed goals, Stella Montis will likely be a challenging map featuring snow and ice.
The new map will launch with a community-based event, meaning it won’t be instantly accessible. Called “Breaking New Ground,” the event starts at 1:30 AM Pacific Time / 4:30 AM Eastern Time. Players will need to collaborate to unlock the path to Stella Montis by solving a puzzle within the tunnels of Speranza.
Players can earn a new currency called Merits by contributing to the tunnel project. These Merits will unlock the next phase of the event, “Staking Our Claim,” which will allow players to explore Stella Montis with fresh challenges, a new progression system, and exciting rewards. This second phase will be available throughout December.
New enemies
I’m so hyped for the North Line update! They’re adding two new ARC enemies to fight – Matriarch and Shredder. Sounds like a real challenge!
The Matriarch is a massive ARC, much larger and more intimidating than the Queen. Prepare your Wolfpacks and Hullcrackers to face it! Like the Queen’s Harvester event, this powerful enemy will only appear under specific map conditions.
The Shredder enemy can only be battled on the Stella Montis map, and it’s designed to push players into intense, close-range combat. Given that even a single hit can be devastating in this game, the Shredder already sounds like a formidable opponent.
New rifle, grenades, and mines
Okay, so they just dropped a new weapon called the Aphelion, and it’s another energy gun which is awesome for taking on the ARC. But that’s not all – they also added two new grenades: the Seeker and the Trailblazer. And if that wasn’t enough, there are three new mines now too – Pulse, Deadline, and Gas. Lots of new tools to mess around with!
New quests
Players can also take on a new questline to help Speranza, this time centered around Stella Montis and the challenges and rewards found there. We’ll be adding these quests to our complete Arc Raiders quest list as we explore Stella Montis and battle the ARC.
More on the way in December
The recent North Line update is only the first step in a series of improvements planned for Arc Raiders. Embark Studios has announced that the next major update, called Cold Snap, will arrive in December. It will include a new event called Flickering Flames, a snowfall weather effect for the maps, a reset of the Expedition Project Raider, and other additions.
