Wuthering Waves is adding a new 5-Star Resonator in Chisa – Here’s everything you need to know about her

  • Wuthering Waves will launch its 2.8 update on November 20th
  • The new 5-Star Resonator, Chisa, will be available for a limited time
  • Use her dual role abilities to gain a strategic edge over your opponents

Wuthering Waves, the expansive open-world action RPG, is adding a new playable character named Chisa. She’s a powerful 5-Star Resonator designed with a school-girl aesthetic, and joins the game’s post-apocalyptic setting.

The new character, Havoc Broadblade Resonator, will be the main highlight of Wuthering Waves’ 2.8 update, releasing on November 20th. She has a unique look inspired by Japanese kogal fashion and offers powerful support abilities that will make her a valuable addition to any team.

What’s her story?

So, from what I’ve gathered about Chisa, she’s a super smart student at Startorch Academy – that’s why she’s always rocking the schoolgirl look. She’s the type who thinks things through and tackles problems logically. But when logic doesn’t cut it, she pulls out this huge pair of scissor blades and just…handles things! It’s a cool contrast, honestly.

What’s so special about her?

Chisa might seem like someone who prefers to work alone, but she’s actually a fantastic support character. She really shines in teams that focus on applying negative effects, as her special ability boosts how strong and how many of those effects can be stacked, making the whole team better at weakening enemies.

Chisa isn’t just a support character; she also provides significant healing through her Resonance Liberation skill, restoring health to teammates. This combination of abilities makes her a very flexible character, and initial testing shows she works especially well with characters that inflict status effects. Her abilities overcome previous restrictions on how many status effects can be applied, creating powerful combinations.

How to prepare for her

To get ready for Chisa’s arrival, you’ll need to gather materials from previous challenges. You can find essential ascension items by defeating the Lady of the Sea on Capitoline Hill. For Forte upgrades, complete the weekly challenge “The Wheel of Broken Fate” in Avinoleum, Rinascita, to obtain the “When Irises Bloom” material.

As a tip from one player to another, definitely start collecting Polygon Cores, Waveworn Residues, and Shell Credits – they really help you level up quickly at the beginning. And seriously, always use Stuffed Tofu when you’re farming! It gives you a 50% boost to material drops for a full 30 minutes, which is a huge help.

The new item, Summer Flower, is needed to upgrade Chisa and will be added to the game once the update is live.

So how do we feel about her?

As a player, I’m really impressed with Chisa! Not only does she look amazing, but her abilities are perfectly balanced. You don’t have to choose between making her a strong healer or a damage dealer – she can do both really well. That makes her a character I think will be useful in a ton of different teams for a long time to come.

Her arrival is a good indication that Wuthering Waves is heading in the right direction, showing Kuro Games is dedicated to making the game more strategically complex.

If you haven’t played Wuthering Waves yet, you can get ready for the new character, Chisa, by downloading the game now on iOS, Android, or PC from the official Wuthering Waves website.
