The couple even chose to name their baby after Mary’s mother, a touching tribute to the character.

Despite other members of the Cooper family appearing in season two of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, their grandmother, Meemaw, hasn’t made even a brief appearance. Although Mary and Missy mentioned her, it’s surprising she wasn’t included, but June Squibb’s ongoing role in the show Best Medicine likely explains why.

Similar to shows like The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, the new series Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is filmed in California. However, Fox is choosing to film on the East Coast, which fits with the setting of their show, Best Medicine. This creates a challenge for June Squibb, who plays Meemaw, as it’s hard for her to be available. Even if she’s willing to return, her schedule needs to match the filming dates of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, even if it’s just for a brief appearance.
