Pete Davidson, who used to be on Saturday Night Live, says he’d be open to coming back – but only if the circumstances were right.
Pete Davidson was on Saturday Night Live from 2014 until 2022. He told People magazine that he’d immediately return to the show if Lorne Michaels, the show’s creator and executive producer, asked him to. He explained, “I’d do anything for Lorne.”
He fondly remembered his experiences on Saturday Night Live, saying he always felt honored to host. He explained, “It’s a great show, people really look forward to it, and the cast is fantastic.”
He spoke highly of Michaels, expressing gratitude for the producer believing in him and giving him the opportunity that kickstarted his career. “I really owe him everything; he was the one who got things moving,” he said.
Pete Davidson became a cast member on Saturday Night Live during its 40th season when he was just 20 years old, making him one of the show’s youngest performers. He was on the show for eight seasons and returned to host an episode in October 2023, a year after his departure. That episode also included appearances by Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and musical guest Ice Spice.
Pete Davidson created some truly funny moments during his time on the show, especially with his character Chad. Chad was known for being a bit clueless and reacting to everything with a laid-back attitude, often just saying “Aw, OK” or simply “OK.” He first appeared in a sketch called “Pool Boy,” alongside Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Saturday Night Live airs new episodes every Saturday at 11:30 PM ET and 8:30 PM PT on NBC.
