High Potential Actor Talks Getting Hot And Heavy With Kaitlin Olson’s Morgan, And It Sounds Like There’s More To Come

Now that High Potential is on break, and many viewers are disappointed, it’s a good time to review what’s happened so far and guess what might be in store when the show returns in 2026. Interestingly, some of the things we believe to be true about the upcoming season may not be accurate.

Okay, so the midseason finale, “The One That Got Away,” left me totally surprised! It’s always been about relationships for Kaitlin Olson’s Morgan, and this cliffhanger was a big one, but different than how Season 1 ended with her and Tom. This time, things actually heated up – there was some serious kissing and, well, clothes coming off with the new guy, Rhys, played by Aiden Turner. Honestly, I didn’t see that coming, considering how massive Rhys’ ego is – it rivals Morgan’s terrible memory! But it all started to make sense when Morgan suspected Rhys might be the art thief they’ve been after. It was a really clever twist!

I recently chatted with Deadline about joining the show, and honestly, it was a dream come true. My partner and I were already huge fans, so when they asked me to be a part of an action-packed episode, I didn’t even have to think twice! As a fan myself, I really wanted to bring a sense of genuine excitement to the role – something I hoped the other fans would appreciate.

I really wanted the story to feel authentic and deliver what the fans have been hoping for. After sixteen episodes, the character hasn’t had a significant romance, but throughout the series, you can see she’s been searching for a meaningful connection with someone.

Morgan was heading towards a good relationship before things ended with Tom, played by JD Pardo, because he wasn’t giving her enough attention. Later, the actor left the show for a different job. Many viewers are hoping Morgan and Keradec become a couple, but I don’t think it’s a good idea yet. If they got together too soon, it could really disrupt their working relationship.

I’m not completely convinced Morgan should be focusing so much on her casual relationship with Rhys, but I’m starting to see the appeal. It helps that the actor playing Rhys also wants their connection to feel authentic on screen.

I felt honored to win the audition and join the show, especially working with such talented writers, a fantastic director, and Kaitlin Olson. I didn’t want to mess it up, so I put a lot of effort into making my performance feel genuine and realistic.

Given how much effort Aiden Turner seemed to put into building a believable identity, it seemed surprising that the show would reveal him as a target of the LAPD. Morgan became suspicious when she noticed his scar, but the episode ended before she could confront him. Does this suggest he’s not guilty after all?

Todd Harthan, the showrunner, suggested that might be true, but he wasn’t willing to confirm it definitively. He also hinted that there are still many unanswered questions to come.

Don’t jump to conclusions just because someone has a scar – you can’t be sure it’s him! We’ve got a few surprises and unexpected developments planned, especially in the second half. It’s going to be a really exciting experience.

If he’s not the thief, Morgan can be relieved she wasn’t totally wrong about her gut feeling. But if he is the one who stole something, I hope she doesn’t give up on relationships completely.

High Potential will return to ABC for the back half of Season 2 on Tuesday, January 6.
