Few things are as upsetting as damaging your car, but the developers of Wreckfest 2, Bugbear Entertainment, are leaning into that feeling with their next update. While many racing games let you customize your car’s appearance, Bugbear is letting players deliberately damage their vehicles with a new toolset playfully called “CRAP-IT,” focusing on making them look beat up rather than beautiful.
The video shows how you can virtually damage cars in fun ways – from denting the body and watching rust appear, to upsetting car enthusiasts with poorly applied stickers as you try to hide the wear and tear.
This update not only lets you create your own wild car stunts, but it also makes the game’s tire handling more realistic. We’ve also sped up loading times, added a brand new track called Crash Canyon 2.0, and included a new car – a Volkswagen Beetle. And let’s be honest, that car is begging to be wrecked with the game’s CRAP-IT system!
Wreckfest 2 began its early access period in March, and is planned for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The first Wreckfest became popular for its realistic damage effects, and its sequel was revealed in August 2024 with an action-packed trailer during the THQ Showcase.
