Pokemon releases Tamagotchi-style Pokeball that includes 157 species

Pokemon lovers can now connect with their favorite creatures like never before! Takara Tomy has just launched the Poke-Nade Monster Ball, a virtual pet designed like a Pokeball and similar to a Tamagotchi.

The new handheld device first became available in Japan on October 11, 2025, and can now be purchased from online retailers globally for approximately $90 to $100. It lets players interact with their Pokémon by petting, feeding, and playing with them – all through touch sensors on the Poké Ball itself. The more care you give your Pokémon, the stronger your connection with it will become.

The Poke-Nade Monster Ball includes 157 different Pokémon. Seven of these – called “Partner Pokémon” – have full voice acting and detailed animations. The other 150, known as “Friend Pokémon,” show simpler reactions and feelings. A small screen on the ball displays each Pokémon’s emotions, health, and how it responds to what you do.

The seven Partner Pokemon are Pikachu, Eevee, Lucario, Sylveon, Quaxly, Fuecoco, and Sprigatito.

Tamagotchi-style Pokemon without the fear of death

The Poke-Nade Monster Ball is different from older Tamagotchi toys because your Pokemon won’t die. If you don’t care for them, they might get sad or ignore you, which encourages players to be kind and consistent with their care. It also has both English and Japanese language options, making it easy for people all over the world to use.

This gadget uses four AAA batteries and offers fun mini-games, interactive feeding features, and a friendship diary to track daily adventures. According to Takara Tomy, it’s designed to help players build a stronger bond with their Pokémon by combining the charm of classic gameplay with modern technology.

You can now purchase the Poke-Nade Monster Ball from stores like Play-Asia, Wafuu, and Meccha Japan. While it’s not officially available worldwide yet, you can import one as long as supplies last.
