The legendary story of Robin Hood continues to be retold in many forms, and now MGM+ is adding its own version with a new series, also titled Robin Hood, debuting November 2, 2025, at 9 p.m. EST. This series reimagines the classic story, setting it after the Norman conquest of England in the 1100s. The story focuses on Rob (Jack Patten), the son of a Saxon forester, who sees his life turned upside down when his family loses their land and his father is killed by the ruling Normans.
Amidst hardship, a love story unfolds as Rob falls for Marian, the daughter of a Norman lord. Fueled by a desire for revenge and skilled with a bow and arrow, Rob gathers a group of outlaws to fight against injustice. Together, Rob and Marian work towards a fairer world – Rob leading the rebels, and Marian maneuvering through the dangerous politics of the royal court. Through their fight against corruption and their quest for peace, Rob becomes the famed hero known as Robin Hood.
The new 10-part series features Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen, Sean Bean, Lydia Peckham, and a talented cast. Now that the show is officially launching, meet the actors who are bringing the classic story of Robin Hood to the screen.
Jack Patten Plays Robin Hood

MGM+
Jack Patten plays Robin Hood in our new take on the classic story. He leads a band of outlaws and shares a romantic connection with Marian. Patten is a newcomer to acting, having only appeared in one previous project. He recently ended a promising football career because of an injury and is now pursuing acting. This role marks his first major and first television appearance.
Michael Wright, the head of MGM+, is confident Jack Patten is perfect for the lead role. He told Deadline they were thrilled to cast Patten in his first TV series, immediately recognizing him as their ideal Robin Hood. Wright believes Patten uniquely embodies the charisma and heart needed for this fresh take on the classic story of a charming outlaw who robs from the wealthy to help the poor, and finds love with the strong-willed Marian.
The up-and-coming actor is quickly gaining recognition and has just finished filming the Netflix movie War Machine, where he appears alongside Alan Ritchson.
Lauren McQueen Plays Marian

MGM+
I’m so excited about Lauren McQueen as Marian! She’s starring opposite Jack Patten in this new take on the Robin Hood story, and she absolutely embodies the brave and adventurous spirit of the character. I’ve heard she and Robin Hood will have a really central, romantic relationship, which I can’t wait to see unfold. You might recognize Lauren from her work in Masters of the Air and Belgravia: The Next Chapter. It’s a big role to take on, following in the footsteps of legends like Audrey Hepburn, Uma Thurman, and Cate Blanchett, but I have a feeling she’s going to be incredible!
Sean Bean Plays the Sheriff of Nottingham

MGM+
Sean Bean is perfectly cast as the cruel Sheriff of Nottingham. Traditionally, the Sheriff is portrayed as a harsh ruler who unfairly taxes and mistreats the people of Nottinghamshire. The trailer also shows he was responsible for the death of Robin Hood’s father. With a career spanning three decades, Bean is known for playing convincing and memorable villains in both British and international films.
Lydia Peckham Plays Priscilla of Nottingham

MGM+
Lydia Peckham, also known as Priscilla of Nottingham, is a clever and resourceful woman – and the Sheriff’s daughter. She knows how to get what she wants and uses her understanding of power to manipulate Marian, the rival of her father, into a life of luxury and influence.
Steven Waddington Plays Earl of Huntingdon

MGM+
Steven Waddington stars as the Earl of Huntingdon, a tough Norman nobleman and the father of Maid Marian. He’s known for his roles in films like Uncharted, The Last of the Mohicans, and Edward II. He also recently appeared with Gary Oldman in the popular Apple TV series Slow Horses.
Connie Nielsen Plays Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine

MGM+
Connie Nielsen is well-known for portraying strong female characters in historical dramas. While many remember her from Ridley Scott’s Gladiator (2000), she’s now set to play Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, a truly remarkable historical figure. Eleanor was a powerful and influential queen of both France and England in the 1100s, and the mother of two English kings: Richard the Lionheart and King John. She was first married to King Louis VII of France, but after an annulment, she married King Henry II of England.
Marcus Fraser, Angus Castle-Doughty, and Henry Rowley complete the main cast of Robin Hood. The series begins on MGM+ on November 2, 2025, with new episodes dropping every week until the season ends on December 28, 2025. Watch Robin Hood on MGM+.
