When building an Aureus Neutralizer for player-versus-player combat, you have several good perk options in each slot. However, our testing showed that “Lone Wolf” and “Opening Shot” consistently performed the best. These two perks together give you increased range, help with aiming, and faster target acquisition speed – all crucial for success in the Crucible.
Consider using ‘Closing Time’ instead of ‘Opening Shot’ for broader stat improvements. However, because Aureus isn’t a special ammo weapon, its perk won’t always be active, unlike with Fusion Rifles or Shotguns.
For player-versus-environment (PvE) activities, the Aureus build excels with melee combat. Landing a successful melee attack with this build provides a significant 50% damage boost to your gun for three shots, thanks to the ‘Trench Barrel’ perk. Additionally, the ‘Grave Robber’ perk automatically reloads your magazine after a melee hit, making Aureus incredibly effective for dealing high damage with your primary weapon.
