Players don’t like the new map in BF6. Some call it the worst in the series’ history, and all because of its size

Today, Battlefield 6 Season 1 launched, and while it aimed to excite fans, the response was mixed. A major point of contention was the new Blackwell Fields map, which players found too small and open for effective air combat. Players reported that anti-aircraft vehicles could easily eliminate pilots immediately after they respawned, even from the vehicle’s base. Despite these issues, the developers have assured players that more updates are coming, including the launch of Battlefield RedSec.

Players complain about Blackwell Fields

A Reddit user shared a video highlighting a problem with the new map. The clip clearly shows a player being targeted and shot down almost immediately after launching into the air. Players are criticizing the developers of Battlefield 6, claiming they didn’t properly test the Blackwell Fields map before its release. Many fans are calling it the worst map ever created for the game.

Fan feedback may lead to necessary changes in the game. We saw this happen recently when players disliked the bright, new skins planned for release, fearing they would clash with the game’s realistic style. As one person pointed out, the cosmetic items, created in partnership with Monster Energy, were adjusted to be much more subtle, and their colors were made less distracting.

Schedule and add-ons for Battlefield RedSec players

As a huge fan of Battlefield 6, I’m so excited to hear that there are two more free updates planned for Season 1 this year! The next one drops on November 18th, and then another one on December 9th. I can’t wait to see everything they add – details are below!

Today, we’re excited to launch Battlefield RedSec, a free-to-play battle royale game! To celebrate, PlayStation Plus members can get the Rogue Ops bundle completely free – it normally costs around $20. This bundle is mainly filled with cosmetic items that are also usable in Battlefield 6.
