Inspiration can come from surprising places. While Escape from Tarkov is known for being a challenging and realistic shooter, the team at Team Soda decided to create something a little different – and much sillier – with duck-themed combat. Escape from Duckov isn’t meant to be taken seriously, but it’s more than just a parody; hundreds of thousands of people play it every day, and that number is constantly increasing. Many of these new players are still learning the ropes, and one of the biggest challenges seems to be surviving the game’s storms. This guide will teach you how to overcome this obstacle and which items will be most helpful.
How to survive the storm in Escape From Duckov. Get the right items for the job
Surviving in Duckov is incredibly difficult, and getting caught in a storm is especially dangerous. Even if you think you’ve weathered the worst of it, a second, even more powerful phase can quickly overwhelm you. Luckily, you’re not completely helpless – there’s equipment available to help you survive even the most extreme weather.
Storm Work gear
To begin, you’ll need to prepare for the first storm level. You’ll be searching for the Storm Work Helmet and Suit, but getting them requires a bit of preparation. First, you’ll need a Gas Mask to protect yourself. With the Gas Mask equipped, you can explore the cellar on the Warehouse map. However, you’ll also need the Cellar Key to even get inside. Once you have both items, you can enter the cellar and purchase the Storm Work Helmet and Suit from a vendor located there.
However, there is one more piece of gear that is helpful
Injector
The Weak Space Storm Protection Injector is crucial for surviving the storm, and some players rely on it entirely during the first phase. You can unlock the blueprint for it by completing Mud’s quest.
- Storm Resistance
It will be unlocked after completing Specific Medicine II.

Space Protection gear
Okay, so the standard defenses will get you through the first part of Storm, but heads up – there’s a second phase and it’s way tougher! You’ll seriously need to boost your protection. Luckily, I’ve been running with the full Storm Work set and a Weak Space Storm Protection Injector, and that’s been a lifesaver.
To safely and consistently progress through Storm phase 2, you’ll need a Space Protection Helmet and Suit. You can find these items in J-Labs: the helmet is located in the red room, and the suit is on level 2, but it’s a random drop. If you don’t find them by chance, you can also get the equipment by completing two quests.
- Find the Four Horsemen (grants the helmet),
- The First Test Subject (provides the suit).
Hopefully, this will be enough to help you survive the dangerous world of Duckov. Keep in mind that this is a single-player game, so you’ll be facing the challenges alone. Currently, there are no plans for a console version, and the game doesn’t officially support controllers – it’s designed for PC only. If you’d like to suggest console support or controller compatibility, feel free to share your ideas on the official Escape From Duckov Discord server. Best of luck!
