The upcoming first big update for Hades 2 won’t rewrite the ending that some players have debated, but it will make it much better.
Just a month after releasing the first sequel to one of their games, Supergiant Games has launched a significant update – following a small fix earlier in the month. This update is currently available as a preview, and the developers have shared a complete list of all the changes coming to H2.
Update 1 is now live and includes the usual improvements – we’ve tweaked how blessings and boons work to improve balance, and adjusted how different upgrades interact with each other. The team also fixed several bugs, ranging from small issues to more significant problems, and smoothed out some glitches in the game’s levels and sound/visual effects.
Beyond just fixing bugs and improving performance, the latest update for Hades 2 adds new story events and visuals that build towards the game’s true ending. Players previously felt the ending needed more context, so Supergiant Games added more scenes before the final credits. As a result, it now takes more playthroughs of the Underworld to unlock it.
I just checked out the developer’s Steam post and it has a complete rundown of all the changes coming in the next update! It’s still early days though – it’s just a draft right now, and they haven’t announced when it’s actually going to be released yet.
