Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei: Remake May Be Near Release Date

In 2020, Forever Entertainment released a modern console version of Sega’s game Panzer Dragoon. Now, it seems that another remake of Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei is being developed by Forever Entertainment along with MegaPixel Studio and Storm Trident. There’s a possibility that this new remake could be released earlier than anticipated.

Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei: Remake is set to have its first public showing at the Rainy Frog booth during the Tokyo Game Show in September 25-28, 2025. The game will be playable on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, although a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet by the publisher.

In 1996, Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei made its debut on the Sega Saturn console, serving as a precursor to the initial game. In this captivating adventure, players take on the role of Jaen Jaqeue Lundi, who challenges societal norms by bonding with and mastering a dragon named Lagi. Throughout the journey, Lagi functions both as a mode of transportation for the player and their main offensive tool. Together, Lagi and Jaen confront hordes of lethal adversaries while exploring the mysteries hidden within ancient civilizations.

The remake of Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei, similar to its original version, will be a game focusing on shooting sequences along a fixed path. However, it will offer some contemporary enhancements such as multiple paths that change based on player’s progress and a developed set of powers for Lagi that evolves according to player’s skill and style. Furthermore, post-campaign, players can employ a berserk attack and replay missions with various challenges.

For those purchasing Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei: Remake, you’ll be given the flexibility to select between traditional and contemporary control schemes. The game boasts enhanced visuals along with an upgraded soundtrack, consisting of a remastered version plus the original music.
