If you’ve tried playing the multiplayer mode, you’ve probably noticed the maps are really huge. Although there are only 9 maps, each one is broken down into different areas to suit smaller, medium-sized, and larger game types.

If you’ve played a game with a big map, you’ll notice how much ground you have to travel across just to reach your opponents.

Vehicles play a key role in getting around quickly. Whether you need to rush into action on a quad bike or take to the skies in a fighter jet or helicopter, mastering vehicle control is essential for a more strategic and effective gameplay experience. It’s a crucial skill to learn!

Let’s explore all the vehicle types in Battlefield 6 and discuss how to use them effectively.

Practice Servers

Before attempting complex maneuvers that could lead to a crash, it’s a good idea to practice on a server where mistakes don’t have serious consequences.

Having trouble flying the helicopter? Try enabling Helicopter Control Assist in the gameplay menu’s Vehicle settings. It can make controlling the helicopter much easier.

To join a server, start by selecting the ‘Community’ option and then go to ‘Search Experiences’. Sort the results by ‘Most Popular’ and look for ‘Helicopter and Jets Practice’. Browse through the available servers and try joining one. You might get a ‘Global Game Quota’ message a few times, but keep trying different servers – eventually, you should be able to connect.

Feel free to experiment with both jets and helicopters in this area without fear of criticism from your teammates. Don’t rush – the controls can be a bit tricky, particularly if you’re using a mouse and keyboard.

Main Battle Tank

M1A2 SEPV3 & LEO A4

When facing enemy tanks and armored vehicles, the best approach is to use a tank of your own. This one seats two and can be loaded with various weapons to deliver a lot of firepower.

This vehicle excels at leading the charge, securing objectives while your team moves to attack enemies from the sides and rear. Its incredibly strong armor makes it ideal for holding ground in a fight.

This tank is highly customizable and can be outfitted with the following gear:

  • Primary Ammo
  • Alternate Ammo
  • Secondary Gun
  • Interference equipment
  • Functionality Upgrade
  • Remote Weapon for the Side Gunner
  • Additional Piece of Gunner Equipment

As you become more experienced with the MBT and use it frequently, you’ll unlock new weapons and upgrades to customize it.

Infantry Fighting Vehicle

M3A3 BRADLEY & STRF 09 A4

If you’re far from the fighting, hop into this tank to quickly join the action. While it doesn’t pack as much punch as the last one, it’s faster and better at directly engaging enemy soldiers.

This vehicle seats six people, including the driver and gunner. You can use it to transport teammates close to a target, leave them there, and then move forward to create a diversion. However, it won’t be very effective against enemy tanks, so it’s best to fall back and rejoin your team if you encounter one.

Compared to the previous tank, this one has even more customisation options:

  • Primary Ammo
  • Secondary Missile
  • 2 Pieces of Equipment
  • Tank Upgrade
  • Remote Weapon
  • Target Designator
  • Smoke Wall

Light Transport Vehicle

GLIDER 96 & VECTOR

The next vehicle prioritizes speed and distance over heavy weapons. It’s built for quickly covering large areas of the map. These trucks can transport four passengers, plus an additional gunner who operates the turret.

Okay, so this mounted weapon is cool, but honestly, the car itself offers almost no protection. Unlike a tank, you’re super vulnerable. If I stop moving for even a second, a sniper could easily take me out, and a tank shot will probably destroy the car instantly. I really only use it to quickly get my squad around the map or as temporary cover while I heal up. It’s not something I’d want to rely on in a fight!

As we’ve already discussed, this vehicle comes with just one pre-installed weapon, and it can’t be swapped out.

Anti-Air Tank

CHEETAH 1A2 & GE-26 PAX

Annoyed by enemy helicopters attacking from above? It’s time to take control of an anti-air tank and shoot them down!

Although this tank only holds one pilot, it’s equipped with a wide range of weapons. You can use standard shells to destroy helicopters flying overhead, or lock onto targets with guided missiles.

This tank isn’t very effective against ground troops, so it’s best to keep it hidden from the enemy. Stick to the back lines and focus on taking out enemy aircraft. Eliminating those aerial threats will give your team a significant edge.

Customisation is a little more limited with this tank, however:

  • Single Primary Ammunition type
  • Secondary anti-air missile
  • Interference Equipment
  • Tank Upgrade
  • Radar System

Attack Helicopter

M77E FALCHION & PANTHERA KHT

It can be frustrating to keep dying and having to run all the way across the map. Fortunately, if there’s a helicopter available, you can spawn right inside it. These attack helicopters are very powerful and can quickly destroy both soldiers and tanks on the ground.

Similar to tanks, these helicopters have two ways to attack. The main pilot can launch powerful missiles to destroy ground targets, or use weapons to fight other aircraft. The second pilot can operate the automatic cannon and fire additional missiles, especially when the main pilot is busy flying.

The following options can be modified depending on the level of the aircraft:

  • Primary Aim-Guided Missile
  • Secondary Anti-Air Missile
  • Flares
  • Repair or Detection Equipment Slot
  • Vehicle Upgrade
  • Gunner’s Remote Autocannon
  • Gunner’s Guided Missiles

Transport Helicopter

UH-79

The Heli works much like the light transport we discussed before. Although it’s equipped with miniguns on both sides for defense, its primary purpose is to carry five soldiers and deploy them on the battlefield.

Some maps have elevated positions you can’t reach normally, like by using stairs. If you start a match in a helicopter, you can jump out and parachute to land on these spots. This gives players who like to scout and snipe a great advantage, letting them get a good view of the battlefield from above.

This vehicle comes with a lot of features, but you can’t customize them. It’s designed for transport, not for direct combat.

  • Flares
  • Emergency Repair
  • 2 Mounted Miniguns

Attack Jet

F-61V & F-39E

If you found the helicopters difficult to fly, jets might be a better choice. They’re harder for enemies to shoot down and generally easier to handle.

This attack jet excels at eliminating enemy troops and vehicles, even when they’re concealed. It’s great for covering large areas, using its autocannon to damage multiple targets at once, or precision-guided missiles to destroy heavily armored tanks.

These jets can be tricky to find and use because they only have room for one pilot. Unlike helicopters, you can’t simply respawn in one if you’re forced to eject. Keep an eye out for them appearing at your headquarters, but be sure to practice flying before you rely on them!

Similar to the transport Heli, none of the loadouts can be changed on either of the jets:

  • Primary Autocannon
  • Secondary Guided Missile
  • Flares
  • Aim-Guided Missile
  • Radar System

Fighter Jet

F-97 KESTREL & SU-57

If you’ve practiced flying the attack jet a good bit but are still frequently losing to other pilots, it’s probably time to switch to a different kind of aircraft.

The Fighter Jet is designed to destroy enemy aircraft. Its powerful Auto-cannon can quickly penetrate the armor of other jets and helicopters, allowing you to disable them with minimal firing.

Keep looking behind you to see if you have another jet on your tail.

Your top priority should be eliminating the enemy fighter jet. Fly to a high altitude and scan for the red jet icon below. Try to approach from behind, and when it’s flying straight while searching, aim and destroy it.

This fighter jet comes equipped with:

  • Primary Autocannon
  • Aim-Guided Bomb
  • Flares
  • Radar System

Quadbike

RUGGED MV740

You may have seen quadbikes available on some maps. These are useful for quickly traveling short distances to the edge of the fighting area. However, they offer no protection, so if an enemy sees you, you’ll likely be defeated quickly.
