AI Startup Morphic to Produce Anime Series ‘DQN,’ Launches $1 Million Creator Fund for Emerging Filmmakers (EXCLUSIVE)

Morphic, a tech developer and production studio, is creating its inaugural episodic anime series titled “DQN,” from creator Kushagra Kushwaha, in collaboration with Kushwaha’s Tokyo-based studio 4861. Furthermore, the company has pledged $1 million to a creators fund that will support budding filmmakers, with the objective of financing live-action and animated movies, short films, games, comics, and manga.

Hailing from India, but now residing in Tokyo, Kushwaha is a creative mind behind anime series. His impressive portfolio boasts contributions to shows like “JoJo’s Stone Ocean” on Netflix and “Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest,” which airs on Amazon, Apple TV, Roku, and Crunchyroll. His latest work, titled “DQN,” is set in a cyberpunk universe governed by advanced networks and artificial intelligence. The narrative revolves around a group of twelve individuals who are locked in a competition to reveal the secrets hidden within a concealed vault, which could potentially reshape the dynamics of power.

Kush is a remarkably skilled filmmaker with an exceptional grasp of anime as a creative medium, and I couldn’t be prouder to debut ‘DQN’ as our inaugural anime series,” said Jaynti Kanani, the ex-CEO and founder of blockchain company Polygon, who established Morphic in 2024 with locations in San Jose, New York, Dubai, and Bangalore. “Our mission at Morphic is to provide cutting-edge technology to the world’s most gifted filmmakers, and we’re thrilled to introduce our first creators’ fund to attract even more gifted storytellers to our platform.

Kushwaha expressed, “I’m deeply enthusiastic about employing advanced technology to disseminate this narrative style to the largest global audience possible. I’m excited to collaborate with JD and the Morphic team, who are leveraging AI to make this genre more accessible, speed up its release, and empower a fresh wave of artists to realize their most imaginative artistic visions.
