Haley Joel Osment has issued an apology following his use of an offensive, anti-Semitic term during a recent arrest on charges of public intoxication and controlled substance possession.
As a cinephile, I found myself in an unexpected situation on April 8 at a California ski lodge. Apparently, I was causing a disturbance, preventing others from boarding the ski lift, as per videos obtained by TMZ and bodycam footage. The police intervened, and during my arrest, I used offensive language towards the officer transporting me to jail, referring to him as a “fucking Nazi” and uttering a racial slur.
I’m deeply ashamed of my actions. If I had realized I used such offensive language during a moment of intoxication, I would have addressed it sooner. The recent hardships I’ve faced, like losing my home in the Los Angeles fires, have left me emotionally vulnerable,” Osment explained to People. “However, this doesn’t excuse my behavior. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was offended by my words. I feel I let down the Jewish community, and it pains me deeply. I don’t seek forgiveness, but I vow to make amends for my regrettable error.
