PlayStation Plus Prices Have Increased In Certain Regions, But Not The US

In Canada, Sony raised the cost of PlayStation Plus memberships, marking the first such increase since September 2023, when they previously adjusted prices in this area.

In an email addressed to subscribers, Sony announced that the cost of your ongoing 12-month PlayStation Plus Extra membership will rise to CAD 189.99. This price hike is necessary for us to maintain providing top-tier games and perks through your PlayStation Plus subscription.

Sadly, Sony isn’t introducing any extra benefits for PS Plus at this time to counterbalance the rise in prices. However, subscribing to the service will still grant you access to the PS Plus Catalog and free monthly games. The reason behind these price hikes remains uncertain, but it seems that increases due to tariffs may not be confined only to US pricing.

The new prices in Canadian dollars are as follows:

  • PlayStation Plus Essential 12-month subscription — $110 (previously $95)
  • PlayStation Plus Extra 12-month subscription — $190 (previously $155)
  • PlayStation Plus Premium 12-month subscription — $225 (previously $190)

Starting today, Sony has made the announcement that they will be elevating the cost of PS Plus memberships in countries like South America and Australia. Additionally, they have disclosed their intention to boost the prices of specific PlayStation 5 consoles within particular regions, such as New Zealand, Europe, and the United Kingdom.

For updates on PS Plus, members will have the opportunity to claim their complimentary games for April 2025, which include RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker’s Memory.
