Saban Films has secured the distribution rights for director Stuart Ortiz’s (“Grave Encounters”) upcoming horror movie “Strange Harvest,” which is expected to hit cinemas in North America this coming summer, according to our exclusive information from EbMaster.
A routine home visit in the suburbs of San Bernardino reveals a chilling sight – a family of three bound, injured, and arranged beneath an odd symbol scrawled in blood on the ceiling. Detective Joe Kirby and Lexi Taylor recognize the symbol as that of a serial killer known as Mr. Shiny, who had been absent for 15 years but now seems to have resurfaced to resume his killing spree.
‘Strange Harvest’ is unlike anything you’ve witnessed before,” expressed Jonathan Saba and Shanan Becker from Saban Films jointly. “Stuart has skillfully created a film that will captivate both horror and true crime enthusiasts. To fully appreciate this exhilarating journey, it must be enjoyed on the big screen.
After acquiring the rights, filmmaker Ortiz expressed in a statement: “My aim for ‘Strange Harvest’ is to lead viewers on an exhilarating rollercoaster journey like no other – one that plunges suddenly and offers numerous unexpected twists and turns.
After its debut at a film festival, “Strange Harvest” has also been screened at Beyond Fest, Fright Night Film Fest, and the Telluride Horror Show. This movie is produced by Bruce Guido, Alex Yuri Yesilcimen, and Michael Karlin.
Saba acted as an intermediary, finalizing the agreement for Saban, in collaboration with Pip Ngo and Peter Van Steemburg from XYZ Films, representing the filmmaking team.
