As a devoted movie enthusiast, I’m excited to share that Lifetime has unveiled the trailer for their upcoming four-part documentary series titled “The Judd Family: Truth Be Told.” This intriguing series is set to premiere over Mother’s Day Weekend, starting from May 10th and continuing through the 11th at 8pm ET/PT. I can hardly wait!
The announcement states that this documentary focuses on one of the most renowned country music families in recent times, the Judds, delving into the intricate relationship between late matriarch Naomi Judd and her daughters Wynonna and Ashley. Directed by Alexandra Dean (known for “Secrets of Playboy” and “This is Paris”), this documentary will unravel the complex mother-daughter dynamics and intergenerational struggles as experienced within the Judd Family.
Besides chats only with Ashley, Wynonna, immediate relatives, and confidants, this documentary showcases seldom-seen images, private videos, previously unheard tracks, and archived audio.
In 2022, at the age of 76, Naomi Judd took her own life with a firearm. Her daughters released a statement saying: “Today we, her daughters, endured a heart-wrenching loss. Our beloved mother succumbed to the affliction of mental illness. We are devastated. We are grappling with profound sorrow and realize that, as much as we loved her, she was adored by her fans. We find ourselves in uncharted waters.
The series ‘The Judd Family: Truth Be Told’ was created by Propagate Content, and will air on Lifetime. Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Isabel San Vargas, Jonathan Schaerf, Alexandra Dean (who is also the director), Elaine Frontain Bryant and Brad Abramson all serve as executive producers.
