The Netflix adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice” has cast Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet.
They are set to team up with “Slow Horses” actor Jack Lowden, who was recently confirmed for the role of Mr. Darcy, as EbMaster previously announced on a Wednesday report.
This year, a six-part series inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel is set to be produced in the U.K. The adaptation will be carefully crafted under the guidance of Dolly Alderton, author of “Everything I Know About Love,” and directed by Euros Lyn, known for “Heartstopper.
According to a press statement, Dolly is set to breathe life into Jane Austen’s timeless tale, captivating those who adore it while sparking interest among novices, inspiring them to discover and appreciate Austen for the first time.
Actress Emma Corrin, who gained fame in “The Crown,” is set to take on a new role as an executive producer in this project, joining Alderton and Lyn, along with Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter from Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne will serve as the show’s producer.
Corrin expressed that playing Elizabeth Bennet is an exceptional chance in a career,” she stated. “To breathe life into such an iconic character, alongside Olivia and Jack, using Dolly’s exceptional scripts, is an immense privilege.
