The basic concept of Date Everything seems quite unusual. In this game, you receive magical eyeglasses that animate your household items, and then, you have the opportunity to cultivate romantic relationships with these animated objects.

In this dating simulation game, all the action unfolds within your home. You have the unique ability to transform household objects into people, where you can then form romantic relationships, create rivals, or make friends with them. This had me pondering which among my kitchen items would be most compatible with me – the fridge, fruit basket, coffee machine, or toaster. To my surprise, I found myself drawn to the fruit basket.

The unusual aspect (beyond the fact that you’re romantically involved with furniture – how unique can a plot get?) is that the glasses weren’t obtained lawfully, so you must navigate your affection while eluding a relentless and unscrupulous boss who’s persistently trying to retrieve them.

By the way, you’re employed by a company that seems to be transitioning towards AI and leaves you in a somewhat uncertain work situation, yet this allows for you to pursue a romantic relationship with your table, as we discussed during our preview.

Dating furniture might be repetitive but it’s never boring

Explore the Thrill of Furniture Love! takes you on an unexpected journey of finding affection for unique pieces of furniture hidden around your home. Although the concept might seem peculiar, it transforms into a captivating tale. Rest assured, there are no talking or sentient tables here; instead, you’ll meet charming, human-like characters who engage in playful banter.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to share some intriguing insights about this game: It turns out, it was crafted by some exceptionally talented voice actors – a fact that becomes apparent when you delve into the richly developed characters, the captivating narrative, and the exceptional cast that truly breathes life into even the inanimate objects. Yet, there’s much more than just its engaging romance aspects to explore here.

Although the core focus is on developing romantic relationships, there’s also an abundance of additional activities to maintain your interest. The primary narrative advances gradually yet consistently, offering a sense of ongoing direction instead of everyday events feeling repetitive.

In this game, known for its playful puns, you are restricted in who you can interact with daily among the five items of furniture. Your aim is to develop feelings for one of them, while also enhancing your abilities by upgrading your ‘rizz’, making it slightly more potent.

At first, I worried it might become monotonous, but Date Everything! manages to stay engaging due to its captivating narrative, talented voice cast, and more than a hundred unique romantic possibilities.

A love letter to voice acting

Previously noted, this game was creatively crafted by voice actors, appearing as a heartfelt tribute to their profession. Each character is breathed to life by exceptionally skilled voice artists (Ben Starr, Steve Blum, Ashley Johnson, Felicia Day, Laura Bailey, and others), each embodying distinct and meticulously written personas, thereby transforming the inanimate into animate… indeed, literally so.

However, it’s due to the exceptional storytelling and heartwarming mini-adventures you often embark on, such as when my basket of fruit and I visited the ice cream parlor owned by a refrigerator, which surprisingly turned into a charming date… yes, it actually happened.

In the end, although additional missions and storylines serve to captivate you, what truly stood out was the exceptional talent on display. Each character possesses a distinct persona, each voice is alluring enough to stir feelings in many, and every piece of furniture offers potential romantic entanglements – an absurd yet awe-inspiring feature.

If you’re not into dating simulation games, then “Date Everything!” might not be the kind of romance you’re seeking. But if you’re someone who enjoys dabbling in this style of game or simply loves this genre, then buckle up for a thrilling, zany, and extraordinary adventure!
