Johnny Somali, a contentious livestreamer, has had his court date pushed back to May due to fresh accusations that could potentially extend his prison sentence.
Johnny Somali, also known as Ramsey Khalid Ismael, has admitted guilt in a South Korean court regarding Obstruction of Business. However, he now faces additional serious accusations.
For several months, Somali repeatedly disrupted peace in South Korea through a sequence of questionable online performances. These acts encompassed dancing at the Peace Statue, bothering residents, and creating disturbances in local establishments.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but reflect on the circumstances of that extraordinary Korean YouTuber, renowned for his special forces skills. Despite bravely engaging in combat with a Somali opponent and securing a knockout blow on camera, he’s facing an even harsher battle within the legal system.
Major charges against Johnny Somali coming as trial gets pushed back
Prior to his scheduled court appearance on April 9th, Somali’s lawyers effectively requested and secured a postponement until May instead.
2 days ago, according to attorney Legal Mindset, Ramsay’s defense team requested a postponement of the trial, hinting that it might be connected to the recent allegations of deepfake incidents.
🚨 News Regarding Ramsey Khalid Ismael (Johnny Somali): The Court has granted a request by his legal team to postpone the April 9 plea hearing. A new trial date has been set for May 16, 2025, in the same courthouse and courtroom. 🚨

The accusation pertains to the alleged creation of deepfakes involving AI, specifically a video featuring the popular Korean streamer BongBong, manipulated to depict him and the influencer sharing a kiss in November 2024.
For Somali, this offense comes with a compulsory imprisonment term of up to seven years, but there are more allegations against him as well.
In the early part of 2024, it was reported that Ismael live-streamed from Lotte World, a popular Korean theme park, where he supposedly used text-to-speech to express his intentions of performing improper actions towards children.
This crime committed by Somali stands out as the most severe offense on record. Discussing it legally without censorship is quite intense for YouTube, so I’ll post this video here for all to see. When I watched this footage in 2024, it was clear that Ramsey would face a thorough investigation concerning this incident. It’s reassuring to see that my initial thoughts were confirmed.

To date, an examination has begun concerning that particular waterway, and it’s possible that Somali may soon be indicted for acts of child molestation. If proven guilty, the penalty could include a 10-year prison term, which would likely involve some form of manual labor.
In the upcoming trial, Somali’s court appearance is scheduled on May 16, 2025. Previously, when he was last before the judge, he showed up late, seemed to be under the influence, and repeatedly ignored requests to remove his ‘Make America Great Again’ cap.
