During the course of Expedition 18 missions in No Man’s Sky, you might encounter an NPC named Iteration Cronus, who serves as the Space Anomaly’s head chef. This character expresses a peculiar appetite for bones. However, the directions provided for the Bone Appetite milestone are somewhat unclear. Fortunately, we can guide you. One of the dishes you can prepare for Cronus is Bone Broth. It’s not only suitable for satisfying his unusual taste, but it’s also essential for completing the Hearty Stock quest. Despite its simple recipe, it might seem confusing at times. But don’t worry, we have a workaround!

How to make Bone Broth in NMS and complete Bone Appetit / Hearty Stock milestones

1. At the start, it’s important to mention that cooking Softened Marrow alone might suffice to finish Bone Appetite. However, don’t forget about Cronus Bone Broth too. In case you don’t achieve it the first time, remember to try again. To earn the Hearty Stock milestone, you must indeed cook Broth.

2. To begin with, Softened Marrow might be enough for completing Bone Appetite; Cronus Bone Broth is still an option. If your initial attempt fails, persist and try again. For achieving the Hearty Stock milestone, you’ll need to prepare Broth.

3. Initially, Softened Marrow could be sufficient to finish off Bone Appetite; don’t neglect Cronus Bone Broth though. If it doesn’t work out initially, give it another go. To earn the Hearty Stock milestone, you’ll have to make Broth.

4. First off, Softened Marrow could be all that’s needed for completing Bone Appetite; don’t forget about Cronus Bone Broth. If you don’t succeed in your first try, persevere and try again. To earn the Hearty Stock milestone, you’ll need to prepare Broth.

Additionally, it’s important to note that there isn’t a single definitive method for creating Bone Broth. In fact, various recipes exist where Softened Marrow serves as the primary ingredient (such as Softened Marrow paired with Meat). However, I’d like to share what appears to be the most popular approach to preparing this unique dish:

1. Gather your ingredients: Bones, Softened Marrow, Meat (optional), and aromatic vegetables such as onions, carrots, and celery.
2. Roast the bones at a high temperature for about 30-45 minutes to caramelize them.
3. Place the roasted bones, marrow, meat, and vegetables into a large pot with cold water.
