Nintendo Switch 2 Launches June 5

Excitedly, I can’t help but share the thrilling news that during the latest Nintendo Direct, they officially disclosed the release date and pricing for the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2! Mark your calendars for June 5, as it’s the big day! As for the price, they held back on revealing those details just yet, but I can hardly wait to find out more!

It was earlier mentioned that a new Nintendo Switch could potentially hit the market in June. To provide some context, the first Nintendo Switch debuted in March 2017 and retailed for $300.

Coincidentally, today, April 2nd, is when US President Donald Trump’s recently announced tariffs take effect. He had initially set a 10% tariff on Chinese imports back in February, which he later raised to 20% in March. Given that Nintendo has traditionally manufactured some of its products in China, there’s speculation about whether the production of the potential Switch 2 might be affected.

It is unclear if the recently announced Switch 2 will have an increased price due to new tariffs, as Nintendo has been producing its consoles outside of China for over half a decade before the current trade deals were implemented. During Trump’s first term, video game consoles were exempt from tariffs because manufacturers successfully argued for a special exception with the government.

In the Nintendo Direct, they unveiled both the launch date and cost for the upcoming Switch 2. To catch up on all the major news and unveilings, don’t forget to browse through TopMob’s compilation of headlines below.
