Elton John/Brandi Carlile London Concert to Be Filmed for April CBS Special

An upcoming concert by Elton John and Brandi Carlile at the London Palladium will be filmed as the basis for a prime-time CBS special, “An Evening With Elton John and Brandi Carlile,” set to air on the network and via Paramount+ on April 6.

On top of the concert footage, which will be shot at the U.K. venue on March 26, the one-hour special will include interviews with the two stars about their friendship and their collaboration on a full-length joint recording, and footage from the making of the new record. An announcement from CBS also stated that “those closest to Elton and Brandi will pay emotional tributes to the artists’ illustrious careers.”

That album, “Who Believes in Angels?,” comes out April 4 on Interscope Records and has been previewed by two teaser tracks, the title song and “Swing for the Fences.” The 10-track album also includes the duo’s recently Oscar-nominated “Never Too Late,” the closing-titles theme from the Elton John documentary of that name.

Besides songs from the collaborative new album, John and Carlile will also be performing older songs from their respective catalogs that will be included in the special.

Fulwell Entertainment is producing an event titled ‘An Evening With Elton John and Brandi Carlile.” Ben Winston, Gabe Turner, and Sally Wood are the event’s executive producers.

Tickets for the London Palladium show were offered in a lottery to fans who pre-ordered the new album.

John has retired from touring, but not from doing individual concerts. He also will be performing at a benefit concert with his band at San Diego’s Petco Park on May 9.
