Gathering the Avengers for a team that might soon be welcomed into the Criterion Collection’s inner circle is Disney’s upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe production, Thunderbolts. The creative team and marketing strategy for this film appear to be aiming at a distinct audience of cinephiles, similar to Film Twitter. Despite some challenges in the casting process, the movie now seems to have found its solid ground. Here’s what we currently know about it, including the latest teaser trailer.

Who’s making the jump to the house of mouse?
A number of ex-creatives from A24 are moving to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jake Schreier, who directed the movie ‘Beef’, is one of them. He’s accompanied by Lee Sung Jin, the showrunner for ‘Beef’, who co-wrote the film with Joanna Calo, a frequent writer for Marvel, and Eric Pearson. Andrew Droz Palermo, the cinematographer for ‘The Green Knight’, is handling the camera work, Harry Yoon, editor of ‘Minari’, is editing this film, and Son Lux, who previously worked on ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’, are responsible for the music score.
Who’s in the cast?
Similar to numerous Marvel productions, several well-known characters are set to appear once more in the franchise. Actors like Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and Olga Kurylenko will reappear from past movies. Additionally, some fresh faces have been added to the cast. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is making her Marvel film debut as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a role she previously played in the TV series, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
