No Rest for the Wicked’s huge update doubles world size, introduces new features, and adds 11,000 changes

According to the announcement made, Moon Studios unveiled the launch date for a substantial update titled The Breach during the Wicked Inside event. This update is scheduled to be released on April 30th, and developers have shared an extensive 25-minute video (which can be watched below) detailing various aspects of the game, offering a wealth of information about it… and beyond.

New era for Moon Studios

During the live demonstration, the developers additionally disclosed updates regarding the shift in the publishing landscape for the game, No Rest for the Wicked. It was revealed that Moon Studios obtained the publishing rights from Private Division, thus achieving full independence. This transition is expected to empower them to work on the game more autonomously, eliminating the need for prolonged information restrictions. They hinted at this by unveiling forthcoming new features towards the end of the presentation and sketching out a “development plan” or “roadmap.

According to X, who is the founder of Moon Studios, Gennadiy Korol, ever since its inception, the studio has yearned for complete autonomy as a dream. What’s new in The Breach?

Previously mentioned, The Breach serves as the largest overhaul yet for the game “No Rest for the Wicked“. This update significantly enhances nearly all aspects of gameplay.

  1. New locations – the game will be enriched with two extensive zones: Lowland Meadows and Marin Woods (along with Marin Village), which will double the size of the available world. This also means additional traders and a lot of new items.
  2. Expanded campaign – the continuation of the story will introduce new characters, factions, and conflicts.
  3. New opponents and bosses – players will face, among others, Timber Wight, Rust Reavers, and many mysterious bosses that the developers didn’t want to reveal yet.
  4. Weapons – two previously unavailable types of weapons will be added: brass knuckles and wands.
  5. System Pestilence – some areas may become contaminated, forcing players to fight against previously unknown enemies.
  6. Changes in the loot and equipment system include improvements to the algorithm for generating items, the ability to re-draw enchantments applied to items, and the introduction of a new category of weapons: Masterworks.
  7. Hardcore Mode – an option for the most demanding players, in which the death of a character means switching to the regular mode of the game (the community was asking for this type of option).

Beyond this, the developers have introduced a number of user-friendly enhancements, such as an upgraded inventory system (allowing chests to hold much larger quantities of loot) and travel stones for swift transportation back to your residences. Additionally, it’s been announced that Gareth Coker, renowned for his outstanding work on the Ori series soundtracks, will be handling the new music score for this update. The list of changes reportedly includes over 11,000 items.

On April 30th, players can look forward to the introduction of “The Breach” in “No Rest for the Wicked”. As per the developers, this is merely the beginning of ongoing development for the game.
