MongolZ CS2 Team Now Backed by Government!

In an extraordinary development, TheMongolZ esports team has received official government support from Mongolia, largely due to their exceptional performance at global Counter-Strike 2 tournaments. They are undoubtedly the most victorious CS2 teams in Asia, and Mongolia aims to preserve this dominance.

Breaking into the world of Counter-Strike has traditionally been a challenging feat due to its longstanding complexity. Over time, teams have continuously upped their bids for star players, artificially inflating salaries, which in turn makes it tough to secure top-tier talent without shelling out millions.

Contrarily to most, TheMongolZ stand out as an exception. Comprising a team entirely of Mongolian players, they showcase promising young talents from the region who have surpassed nearly every other Asian organization globally. Defying the odds, three of these players are still teenagers competing against CS’s deities, yet they consistently deliver exceptional performances at Major events.

Due to their extensive achievement, Nomin Chinbat, Mongolia’s Minister of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth, extended an invitation for them to be recognized as national athletes within the country.

The team doesn’t own a new entity yet, but they do have substantial financial and government support which facilitates smooth access to international events more than ever before.

The MongolZ earn government support with stellar CS2 team

I’ve been part of this gaming crew, the MongolZ, for nearly two years straight. We pride ourselves on nurturing local talent and steering clear of the mainstream Counter-Strike scene when it comes to recruiting new members.

The strategy they employed has proven successful. This team has consistently performed well, with impressive showings at IEM Katowice 2025, PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, Perfect World Shanghai 2024, and even clinching first place at the Thunderpick World Championship 2024. The MongolZ have amassed over a million dollars in prize money from these tournaments alone.

Minister Chinbat shared updates on their recent gathering, where they formally acknowledged the team as national-level athletes.

Moreover, this move forms part of Mongolia’s expanding endeavor to acknowledge professional esports players within their nation, thereby creating chances for local gamers to compete globally and proudly represent Mongolia at major esports events.

Previously, esports have instigated cultural shifts in small nations on several occasions. Similarly, Arslan Ash’s initiatives within Pakistan’s Tekken community didn’t just elevate it as a top-notch esport scene, but they also opened doors for him to converse with government officials about facilitating less complicated visa procedures for him and other professional players.
