In response to an ongoing legal dispute between his company, Prime Hydration, and Lionel Messi’s beverage brand, Logan Paul has clarified that his challenge to Messi for a fight was meant as humor.
In October 2024, the beverage company owned by soccer star Lionel Messi filed a lawsuit against Prime Hydration, alleging that the drink brands associated with Logan Paul and KSI were acting in an unfair manner towards competition. The complaint further stated that Mas+ By Messi’s trademarks had been infringed upon.
In response, Prime swiftly filed a counterclaim against Messi and his company, alleging trademark infringements. However, their actions were perceived as intimidating or bothering the professional soccer player by repeatedly asking him to attend court proceedings.
Initially, Logan challenged Lionel Messi to a boxing match as a response to the allegations of harassment, yet he later clarified that the challenge was merely a jest.
Logan Paul says Messi fight callout was “a joke”
On a Wednesday, February 27, during their shared vlog, brothers Jake Paul and Jake discussed potential upcoming boxing bouts, particularly focusing on the prospect of Jake facing off against KSI.
Logan clarified his earlier comment about Lionel Messi, explaining it was all in good fun. He stated: “Dude, folks misunderstood me when I made that video; they thought I genuinely wanted to fight Messi. But let me tell you, it was just a laugh. People keep saying, ‘Of course you’d want to pick on someone who’s retired and smaller than you.’ Well, it turns out they were laughing with me, not at me.
“I’m not fighting Messi guys, it was a joke for attention. For f**king attention bro.”

Logan stated, “We don’t pick fights with former combatants; instead, we engage individuals our own age who possess equal skills.” Jake seemed to share a laugh at the implication that Logan’s opponent selection might be a bit too easy for him.
