Powerplex’s Comics Fate Will Shock You

In Episode 6 of Invincible’s third season, we are introduced to Powerplex, a character shrouded in vengeance and tragedy. He commits a shocking blunder, and his story takes an unexpected turn in the comic books.

The aftermath of Mark’s confrontation with Omni-Man heavily influenced the storyline in season 2 of Invincible. His goal was to prevent his father from enslaving the world, but this noble pursuit came at a terrible cost: countless innocent lives lost in gruesome fashion as they were caught up in Chicago’s destruction.

In Episode 6, the character Scott Duvall embodies guilt, possessing an extraordinary talent to assimilate various forms of energy and emit powerful electric bursts. This attribute makes him a challenging adversary: striking him will actually amplify his menace.

He harbors a significant beef with Invincible, which escalates into a desperate pursuit of vengeance in Season 3 Episode 6. If you‘ve seen it and are curious about his subsequent fate in the comic books, this is just the spot for you.

What happens to Powerplex next in the Invincible comics

In the comic books, Powerplex finds himself imprisoned at Stronghold Penitentiary following an unfortunate incident where he unintentionally took the lives of his wife Becky and son Jack. He declares a resolve to retaliate against all the deaths inflicted by him, intending to seek justice for each and every one of them.

In this situation, I’m spending my time investigating and identifying each individual who perished due to your actions. Rest assured, you will face the consequences for everything. I may not be here forever, but I am confined and unable to access resources like solar energy or electricity. They’ve severed my connection to these sources.

Eventually, there might be an oversight. A guard could become lax, strike me – which will provide the necessary boost for my escape. Once that occurs, I’ll locate you… and I’ll devise a method to eliminate you.

Invincible Season 3 Episode 4 will include a pivotal story from the comics you can’t miss

In Comic Issue #60, during the Invincible War, he manages to break free from prison. Later in Issue #61, he confronts Mark, leading to a chaotic aftermath. He exclaims angrily, “I can’t believe you’re here after everything you’ve put us through!” The Guardians and other heroes have no choice but to subdue him until his energy runs out, at which point they return him to prison.

How the comics redeem Powerplex

By the eighth issue, Powerplex has teamed up with the Actioneers, under the watchful eye of Cecil. The devastation of Las Vegas and the suspicion that Invincible might be involved infuriates him, leading him to pursue and assault Invincible once more.

He questions Mark, saying “How long will it take for you to realize the consequences of your actions? Are you truly unaware of the damage you inflict?” In response, Mark clarifies, “I can’t be oblivious to that; I am well aware of the lives lost. It’s a burden I carry.

What you might be overlooking, however, is this: in every conflict where casualties occurred – whether it was one life lost or thousands – my inaction would likely have led to even greater suffering.

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, I found myself battling my father with tragic consequences: my sister perished during our clash. It was an unfortunate necessity, as he aimed to seize control of the entire planet, a conquest that would have led to catastrophic losses, potentially claiming hundreds of thousands of lives.

In a heated response, Powerplex acts aggressively, yet Mark chooses not to respond in kind. Instead, he compels Scott to acknowledge the truth: Mark’s intentions have always been to protect others, but tragically, it was him who lost his family – his wife and children.

He admits, “I didn’t take them there, I didn’t restrain them, and I didn’t shock them with electricity. I apologize… it was you who did those actions,” he states, causing Powerplex to weep and respond, “You’re correct.

Powerplex escapes unpunished. Cecil views their battle against Mark as a breakthrough, albeit a sad one. Imprisoning him won’t help; he still has potential use.

In the end, he resumes his tasks with the Actioneers, later lending a hand in protecting Earth against a Flaxan invasion, and he refrains from attacking Invincible ever again.
