Ali Abbasi spoke out following the recent reports on Sunday about an incident involving inappropriate touching during this year’s Golden Globe Awards.

In a post on X, Abbasi expressed his intention to tackle the latest news pieces concerning him honestly and straightforwardly. He acknowledges that his actions may have caused discomfort to someone, irrespective of his motives, and for this, he sincerely apologizes.

He went on to explain, “I’ve interacted with that individual on numerous instances, and I felt we shared a friendly bond. At the Golden Globes gathering, I looked forward to renewing our connection. Unfortunately, in an attempt to be casual, I made an inappropriate gesture – a playful slap on the backside. It was not meant to be sexual at all. I instantly recognized that I had misunderstood the situation. On the spot, I apologized to him, and the next day, my apology was reinforced through my representatives.
