Towards the end of last year, Sabrina Carpenter captivated Marcello Hernandez’s “Saturday Night Live” persona, Domingo, during a concert performance.
And during the “SNL” 50th anniversary special, the pair were reunited.
In a humorous skit titled “vow renewal”, Molly Shannon and Martin Short played Kelsey’s (Chloe Fineman) parents. Sabrina Carpenter led the bridesmaids in a musical tribute to her friend, performing songs that gradually revealed the secret affair Kelsey had with Domingo. Specifically, she sang “Defying Gravity” and then “You Belong With Me” by Taylor Swift, which hinted at the infidelity.

As if that wasn’t enough, the star power of the sketch skyrocketed when it was unveiled that Ronaldo and Domingo are two out of three brothers. The third brother in this family was portrayed by Bad Bunny, whose character also shared a past with Shannon’s character.
For the first time, I found myself captivated by Domingo during a sketch featuring Ariana Grande as host, where the bridal party paid tribute to his past with Kelsey by singing “Espresso” at Kelsey and Matt’s wedding. The charm continued when he made another appearance in a sketch with Charli XCX, with Kelsey’s friends celebrating her babymoon by performing a rendition of Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” Throughout these sketches, the lyrics revealed Kelsey’s undeniable infatuation with Domingo – yet, it was only now that I got a glimpse into his broader family circle.
