In much the same way as Dawnshore, players can gather Schemer’s Offering Totem Fragments when traversing Emerald Stair within the game Avowed. These fragments are connected to Skaen and once a player collects all six, they must return to camp to complete it for rewards and additional benefits.
Typically, you come across these pieces when traversing the Living Lands, but there’s a more convenient method if you have some spare coins in Avowed. In each region, there’s a merchant who offers a scroll that reveals the location of the pieces. However, these scrolls are coded as puzzles, so players must solve them to find the piece.
Fragments Of The Offering Location In Avowed
Upon reaching Emerald Stair’s Farmer’s Market, turn on the Beacon and step into the nearby store to meet Lluisa Melcer. Inquire about her goods and buy the Fragments of the Offering scroll for 500 Currency, which initiates the Totem of Defiance side quest in Avowed. Although it isn’t mandatory, the scroll makes it easier for players to recognize fragments they gather and shows how many remain.
The Schemer’s Offering (Base) Location
To find the totem of the Quiet Slave, an ancient tower you must brave.
As a dedicated explorer, you’ll find that The Base is the cornerstone of your quest. Without it, the rest remains inactive and unreachable. To secure the Schemer’s Offering, make your way to the Shrine of Skaen nestled within Delemgan Glade. Navigating to the top can be tricky, but take advantage of the surrounding platforms to scale up and claim your reward.
Remember that you don’t need to gather every piece first when setting up the God Shrine Totem Base at the gathering spot. Once you have the base, you can begin gradually constructing the totem until it’s finished.
Obsidian Prayer Beads Location
In a verdant glade where old ruins crumble, you will find beads dark and umbral.
In the game Avowed, the Obsidian Prayer Beads can be found on a raised platform, situated west of The Delemgan Glade. To reach this location, teleport to the nearby Beacon and continue your journey westward until you come across an open space inhabited by creatures. Employ the surrounding rocks and tree roots as strategic cover until you locate the Skaen Totem Fragment, which will be marked by the Obsidian Prayer Beads. During the Animancy Method quest, your character will automatically travel to this area in Avowed.
Effigy Necklace Location
Hidden in ruins of heathens long gone, the octet of skulls sings its silent song.
In the ancient quest known as Soil’s Tale within Avowed, gamers are assigned the duty of investigating Naku Tedek ruins alongside Giatta. Upon triggering the essence generator and opening the door, proceed northwards, employ any ice-throwable or spells to freeze the water, enabling a leap onto the tree branch. Subsequently, make your way towards the table in the corner of the room to gather the Effigy Necklace.
Idol of Violent Rebellion Location
From on high the third surveys the land, sewing the seeds of revolt near at hand.
To the east of Frostmere City lies the Ranger Headquarters. Ascend to its peak and retrieve the Idol of Violent Rebellion, also known as the Skaen Totem Fragment.

If you head east from Frostmere City, you’ll stumble upon the Ranger base. Scale it up high, and grab the Idol of Violent Rebellion (Skaen Totem Fragment) along the way.
Idol of Secret Hatred Location
In a damp hollow its sibling waits full of rage, while its previous owner decays with age.
To locate your destination, journey northwestward from Naku Tedek Grounds and enter the Ancient Grotto. The cave is clearly visible if you’re following the Bounty: Old Nuna quest marker. Inside, vanquish the bear and the adversaries, then advance toward the north to discover a chamber filled with lethal red water. To cross safely, create an icy bridge and traverse it to the opposite side. Continue your journey southward and squeeze through a constricted tunnel. Retrieve the Idol of Secret Hatred from the skeleton that lies within.
Idol of Covert Plots Location
In a place of worship amidst moldering rot, this idol continues to scheme and plot.
Near the submerged village known as the Sunken Village, nestled within the gloomy Swampy Enclave, lies the Idol of Hidden Schemes hidden inside one of the enclosed buildings. To retrieve it, adventurers must climb up and leap into the house from above. To get there, navigate to the Signal Beacon at Plateau Junction and follow the northern path. Along the way, you’ll encounter some foes, but keep moving forward towards the damaged wooden bridge close to your destination. Leap onto the roof of the building from this bridge, then descend using the ladders, and finally seize the Idol of Hidden Schemes.
Sacrificial Dagger Location
Left alone in fallow fields, the ritual blade thirsts for skin freshly peeled.
In the deserted farms within Avowed, I stumbled upon the Sacrificial Dagger, carefully tucked away in one of the dilapidated houses. With a sense of purpose, I picked it up and set off towards nearby camp spots to construct the Schemer’s Offering Totem.
How To Complete Totem of Defiance In Avowed
Go near the little shrine in the camp and set up the Schemer’s Offering Base, if it isn’t there already. Interact with it again to add all your collected Skaen God Totem Fragments. Once you’ve completely assembled the Schemer’s Offering, players can listen in on some divine conversations between the gods.
Gathering and combining all Scythian Totem Shards concludes the “Totem of Resistance” secondary mission in Avowed. Notably, triggering the Schemer’s Gift Totem bestows the following perks on players:
