Stars, movie creators, and representatives from the industry came together at Soho House for Studio Babelsberg’s yearly Berlinale party, honoring the esteemed studio’s cinematic heritage and its significant position within Germany’s thriving film and television industry.
Lately, films such as “The Light” by Tom Tykwer (which opened the Berlinale), “The Phoenician Scheme” by Wes Anderson (an upcoming project), and “Control” directed by Robert Schwentke (a thriller with James McAvoy and Julianne Moore) have been filmed at the renowned studio, which belongs to the Cinespace Studios group.
Prominent attendees at the Cinespace x Studio Babelsberg Night this year included Lana Wachowski, Toby Onwumere, Aaron Altaras, Anika Decker, Volker Schlöndorff, Julia von Heinz, Jeanne Goursaud, David Schütter, Lars Kraume, Detlev Buck, Heiner Lauterbach, Uwe Ochsenknecht, Malick Bauer, Florence Kasumba, Hannah Herzsprung, Marie Mouroum, Klara Lange, Dani Levy, Oliver Masucci, Lea van Acken, Sabin Tambrea, and Pheline Roggan.
Many well-known people attended the Cinespace x Studio Babelsberg Night this year, such as Lana Wachowski, Toby Onwumere, Aaron Altaras, Anika Decker, Volker Schlöndorff, and others like Julia von Heinz, Jeanne Goursaud, David Schütter, and so on.
Joerg Bachmaier, CEO, expressed great joy as we kick off the new year with three major series being filmed at Studio Babelsberg. This includes the second season of ‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ for Hulu, the German version of ‘Ten Percent,’ a remake of the popular French show ‘Call My Agent,’ and the return of ‘Babylon Berlin’ to our renowned Metropolitan Backlot for Season 5 filming, all happening in February.
At the moment, the studio is engaged in discussions regarding multiple German movie and show projects, plus two global production ventures.
