Pokemon TCG Pocket glitch causes bizarre “MissingNo. pack”

A user playing the Physical version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) encountered an unusual tactile issue, which resulted in their cards appearing similar to the infamous “MissingNo” glitch seen in older Pokémon games.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket keeps mobile game enthusiasts gripped. With its engaging meta deck construction and the addictive hunt for uncommon cards as its foundation, it’s challenging to break away from it.

Introducing the latest Space-Time Smackdown deck has brought a breath of fresh air with numerous new cards for both uses. Although discovering rare Pokemons or essential game elements is always exciting, one player encountered an unusual twist.

Reddit user mole_man1992 stumbled upon an extraordinary find while unwrapping a Space-Time Smackdown pack for the Pokémon Trading Card Game: Pocket. An interesting mistake occurred, causing the card textures to malfunction and resemble the well-known Pokémon Red and Blue glitch known as MissingNo.

Pokemon TCG Pocket player shocked to find “digital misprints”

In a jovial manner, mole_man1992 humorously labeled the incident as their “First ‘Blank Slate’ Pack” and shared a sequence of images showcasing the issue. It turned out that out of the pack’s total five cards, three were pixelated and unreadable.

The enigmatic character known as MissingNo., originating from the initial versions of the Pokémon games, often emerges due to certain glitches. This mysterious entity appears on-screen as an irregular oval shape made up of randomly scattered pixels, bearing a vague resemblance to the bugged cards you see depicted here.

As a gamer, I was asked in the gaming forum if the cards keep their special look once they’re added to my collection. To clarify, it seems this change only occurs when I first open the pack, but they return to their regular appearance once they’ve been placed within my collection.

People playfully proposed the concept of “digital glitches” as if game cards should have an evaluation and market value attached to them. In the traditional Pokemon Trading Card Game, rare items with printing flaws or incorrect cuts are highly valued by specialized collectors.

Unfortunately, in Pokemon TCG Pocket, they hold no real value aside from being an amusing anecdote.
