Cade Cunningham increases to 91 overall in NBA 2K25
In his fourth year with the Pistons, Cade Cunningham has significantly stepped up his performance, setting personal records and cementing his role as the team’s foundation stone. As of now, in 50 games, he is averaging 25.4 points, 9.4 assists, and 6.3 rebounds per game, while maintaining a field goal percentage of 45.5% and a three-point shooting accuracy of 35.1%.
Over the past dozen games, his performance on the court has been exceptionally noteworthy, with an average of 29.0 points, 9.4 assists, 5.9 rebounds, and one steal per game, all while maintaining a shooting accuracy of 46.9% from the field.
Under Cunningham’s guidance, Detroit has experienced a significant comeback, with the Pistons standing at a 29-26 record as they approach the All-Star break. This places them in sixth position within the Eastern Conference. Their recent victory against the Chicago Bulls (128-110) underscores their determination to secure a playoff spot, marking their first such appearance in over six years. Moreover, Cunningham’s impressive performances have earned him his inaugural All-Star selection, making him the first Pistons player to be selected as an All-Star since Blake Griffin in the 2018-2019 season.
To honor his exceptional performance this season, the overall player rating for NBA 2K25’s Cunningham has been increased by a single point, now standing at 91.
Donovan Mitchell receives a 94 overall
Donovan Mitchell has been instrumental in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ impressive performance this season. As they head into the All-Star break, the Cavaliers boast a remarkable 44-10 record, which places them atop the Eastern Conference and second overall in the NBA, trailing only the Oklahoma City Thunder (44-9).
In his 51 games so far, Mitchell has been consistently delivering an average of 23.9 points, 4.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per contest. He’s also impressing with a shooting efficiency of 45.4% from the field and a career-best 39.1% from beyond the arc. Lately, his performance has been particularly noteworthy, with averages climbing to 26.8 points, 5.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game over the past 12 matches, while maintaining a field goal percentage of 47.7%.
His outstanding performances have landed him a spot in the All-Star team for the sixth time, reinforcing his status as one of the top-tier point guards in the league. NBA 2K25 has recognized Mitchell’s influence by boosting his overall player score to 94.
Norman Powell rises to 87 overall
In his tenth season in the NBA, Norman Powell has become a crucial player for the Los Angeles Clippers, setting new career highs. So far this season, he’s averaging 23.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He’s also impressing with his shooting accuracy, hitting 49.6% of his field goals and 42.6% of his three-point attempts in 44 games played.
As the top scorer for the Clippers this season, Powell has played a crucial role in their 30 wins and 23 losses, placing them sixth in the Western Conference. The Clippers have just one more game to play against the Utah Jazz (13-40) on Thursday night before they take a break for the All-Star weekend.
As a dedicated admirer, I must say, Powell’s remarkable performance on the court didn’t earn him a spot in the All-Star Game this year. Yet, NBA 2K25 has acknowledged his exceptional play by bumping up his overall player rating by one point to an impressive 87.
NBA 2K25 recognizes top performers ahead of All-Star Weekend
The latest update for NBA 2K25 showcases the ongoing greatness of established players such as Donovan Mitchell, who’s leadership keeps the Cavaliers competitive among the league’s top teams. It also spotlights the rise of promising young talents like Cade Cunningham, who’s performance in his fourth season has propelled the Pistons towards a possible playoff comeback. Furthermore, the update acknowledges the emergence of valuable contributors like Norman Powell, whose career-best scoring has become crucial for the Clippers during their quest for the postseason.
As the season unfolds, these updates will consistently mirror the changing gameplay that defines the league, ensuring that in-game ratings remain in sync with actual on-court successes. With each tweak, NBA 2K25 offers a more authentic link to the developing stories and memorable moments of the 2024-25 season.
