As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that Starz has secured the rights to bring Miranda July’s captivating novel “All Fours” to life as a series! This exciting project is now being nurtured within the walls of Starz, a premium cable network.
Title “All Fours” narrates the tale of a woman at a pivotal moment in her existence as she embarks on a personal journey towards sexual discovery. The book’s summary goes: “‘All Fours’ recounts the story of a woman’s pursuit for a unique form of liberation. Blending elements of absurd comedy and tender reinterpretations of sexual, romantic, and domestic experiences of a forty-five-year-old female artist, ‘All Fours’ surpasses expectations while unearthing our deeply held beliefs about life as a woman.
July expressed great excitement in a statement, saying “All Fours” has found its fitting home at Starz. From our initial encounter, I felt an electric connection; it was obvious we shared the same perspective. Unlike other platforms that might shy away from the complexities of sexuality and desire, Starz delves deeply into the authenticity of women’s identities and desires, making it the ideal platform to bring my novel to fruition. This journey is going to be exhilarating!
For approximately one year now, the novel “All Fours” has maintained its position on the Indie Bestseller List for 38 weeks so far, and it’s still climbing. It was also a finalist for the National Book Award and made numerous “Best Books of 2024” lists by The New Yorker, Time, The Washington Post, PBS, Oprah Daily, Vogue, and Vulture.
