Unannounced Digimon Game Listing Pops Up Before PlayStation State Of Play

A surprise Digimon game called “Digimon Story: Time Stranger” seems to have been accidentally revealed, hinting that an official announcement might be coming up shortly.

According to Gematsu’s report, GameStop has posted pre-order options for Digimon Story: Time Stranger, available on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Although the game listing doesn’t provide any additional details, the placeholder release date of December 31, 2025 suggests that it might launch this year.

Today, Sony’s State of Play for February 2025 is due to be broadcast, and there’s a strong possibility that Digimon Story: Time Stranger could be unveiled during the event. Back in 2017, producer Kazumasa Habu from Bandai Namco hinted that a new Digimon Story game was being made, which would make today’s announcement the follow-up to 2018’s Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory.

Our latest news from Habu came at Digimon Con 2022, where he revealed that the upcoming Digimon Story game will feature a narrative centered on the Olympos XII – a dozen Digimon with god-like status, patterned after the original 12 Olympian deities in Greek mythology.

During the State of Play in February 2025, we might learn additional details regarding Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
