Michael B. Jordan Is ‘Proud’ of Jonathan Majors’ ‘Resilience’ and Would Work Together Again After Majors’ Assault Conviction: ‘That’s My Boy’

Michael B. Jordan expressed his willingness to collaborate with Jonathan Majors once more, stating this during an interview for a new cover feature in GQ magazine. In “Creed III,” which saw Majors portray the intense and adversarial boxer Damian “Diamond Dame” Anderson, Jordan also made his directorial debut. The film was met with positive reviews and became a commercial success, earning $276 million globally and surpassing other Creed films as the highest-grossing in the series. However, controversy arose after Majors’ arrest on domestic violence charges just a few weeks following the release of “Creed III.

In December 2023, Majors was found guilty of physically attacking his former partner. This verdict dealt a significant blow to his career as it had been thriving at the beginning of 2023, with him landing villain roles in both “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” Marvel Studios decided to end their association with Majors following the conviction, while Searchlight Pictures postponed the release of his critically acclaimed film, “Magazine Dreams.” Michael B. Jordan expressed his dismay about the situation in an interview with GQ.

However, Majors is thriving now as he’s just become engaged. I’m really proud of his resilience and fortitude throughout this journey, and the way he has handled everything. It’s a relief to see him doing well. That’s my guy.

When asked if he would work with Majors again, Jordan answered: “Yes. Yes.

In December 2023, a jury consisting of six individuals concluded that Majors was guilty of two charges related to harassment and assault as misdemeanors. However, the actor was cleared of two other accusations: intentional third-degree assault and aggravated harassment in the second degree.

In March 2023, Majors was apprehended in New York City following an incident where he physically attacked Grace Jabbari in the back of a private vehicle. Jabbari, a 30-year-old choreographer who crossed paths with Majors during the filming of Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania,” testified that she seized his phone after noticing a text message from another woman. According to her account, as Majors tried aggressively to regain his phone, she experienced a powerful strike to her head, causing bruising, swelling, and intense pain.

In April 2024, the actor received a sentence for one year of counseling related to domestic violence. Major’s comeback project, “Magazine Dreams,” which is a Sundance drama that was purchased in a six-figure deal but then dropped following assault allegations, is now set for a theatrical release on March 21, 20xx by the new distributor Briarcliff Entertainment.
