There is approximately a month and a half remaining before Assassin’s Creed: Shadows goes live, and Ubisoft will continue to unveil additional game content during this period. In an interview with Screen Rant, the creative director of the game, Jonathan Dumont, has further stirred anticipation for the new “Assassin,” discussing the distribution of side quests in the title.
In essence, quests can be divided into three main categories: those centered on achieving objectives or dealing with bandits, those focusing on character interactions, and those that use meditation as a cover. The first category primarily involves taking down specific enemies, while the second strengthens connections with certain characters. Among them all, the third one, which reveals past events of Naoe and Yasuke, appears to be the most captivating.
There are a few hidden surprises in the game, where certain backstory details about Naoe and Yasuke are concealed behind a few meditation-related game mechanics. These are essentially flashbacks that you’ll encounter, and initially, you might not understand who they are, but as you progress, you’ll gradually discover why they’re part of the story.
Through these reflections on the characters’ pasts, we’ll delve deeper into their reasons for acting as they do. Additionally, we’ll gain a richer understanding of the characters themselves, since initially we know surprisingly little about them during the course of their journey.
During a recent conversation, the game’s creative lead revealed additional insights regarding the creation and growth of our personal hideaway, a place where we can gather various animals encountered along our journey. Furthermore, he discussed the choice to incorporate two playable characters within the game.
The game titled “Assassin’s Creed: Shadows” is set to launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on March 20, 2025.
