This year’s Tax Day might not typically call for celebration, but it has a special significance – it falls just ten days before the release of “The Accountant 2” on April 25. Starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, this action sequel premiered at South by Southwest on March 8 following a nearly nine-year wait since the original film introduced us to Affleck’s character, Christian Wolff, the accountant assassin. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Affleck expressed frustration about the production delays. The sequel is said to feature Christian and his brother, Brax (played by Bernthal), joining forces to solve a murder. According to Affleck, their friendship has translated well into this on-screen brother relationship. While the term “love” might seem out of place considering the movie that reportedly strained Affleck’s marriage with Jennifer Lopez, one could ponder whether it’s more appealing to maintain a long-unrequited love or collaborate on an action film with a friend instead.
