As a die-hard baseball enthusiast, I’m thrilled to announce that MLB The Show 25 is set to hit the shelves on March 18, 2025! This year’s edition has an incredible lineup, with Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, and Gunnar Henderson gracing the cover. But Can’t wait to step up to the plate!
Regarding upcoming innovations, Diamond Dynasty’s Sets and Seasons will no longer feature due to fans’ requests for removal of the contentious aspect. On the other hand, Road To The Show enthusiasts are in for a treat, as they can now begin their careers in college, with the option to join one of eight different university teams.

Anticipating an ambush lets you figure out where the pitcher intends to target on the plate. If your prediction is correct, the Plate Coverage Indicator expands and subtly enhances your swing timing. However, if you’re wrong, the PCI diminishes when hovering over that area.
The developers didn’t say whether this new feature would work exclusively in offline settings or if it could also be used online.
Moving forward, three animations will be influenced by a field player’s reaction speed. The best infielders will react swiftly and reach the ball faster, whereas less skilled players may encounter minor lags as they attempt to retrieve the ball.
In this setup, blue arrows signify the jumps that are performed the quickest, green arrows represent typical or average jump speeds, while yellow arrows correspond to the slowest jumps made.
The Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) level difficulty introduces an even tougher challenge beyond the Legend setting. In this mode, players will encounter quicker fastballs, greater curve on off-speed pitches, narrower timeframes for swinging, and a reduced Player Contact Interface (PCI) size.
If you sprint quickly enough to the boundary when a ball is hit far away from the stadium, there’s now an opportunity for players to try and match their speed with a new timer to snatch a home run before it clears the fence. A fielder’s skill level determines how frequently this challenge presents itself and the likelihood of success.
The throw meter has been adjusted to be more high-risk, high-reward. Perfect throws are indicated by a blue bar, and they can only be achieved if you let go towards the end of the green bar instead of the middle. This is risky because it provides less margin for error with less space to work with.
