Kristen Wiig, Bill Murray to Star in Comedy ‘Epiphany’ From ‘Palm Springs’ Director, Rocket Science Selling at EFM

Oscar nominees Kristen Wiig and Bill Murray are to join forces for upcoming comedy “Epiphany.”

Max Barbakow, renowned for his successful debut “Palm Springs” – a sci-fi romantic comedy that garnered critical acclaim and Golden Globe recognition in 2020 – will be helming the upcoming film. The script is penned by Mitch Glazer, known for writing “The Recruit” and “Scrooged”.

In simple terms, CAA Media Finance and Range Media Partners have taken on the responsibility for the film’s distribution within the United States, whereas Rocket Science has been appointed to manage its international release. This week, they will be presenting the project at the European Film Market in Berlin.

As a movie enthusiast, I found myself immersed in the whimsical world of “Epiphany,” where I, Favorite Ives (Wiig), a once-wealthy heiress and fashion icon, now find myself penniless and on the verge of homelessness. To save my skin, I must tie the knot with a wealthy man within two weeks or face destitution. My frantic hunt for a deep-pocketed suitor leads me to collide with the enigmatic Oz Bell (Bill Murray), an eccentric billionaire with a penchant for mathematics. I’m drawn to Oz for his money, while he seeks my infectious zest for life. Will this unconventional pair discover something beyond their initial attraction?

The movie is being made by Glazer, who previously worked on “Lost in Translation”, along with Lee Stollman and Ellen Goldsmith-Vein from The Gotham Group. They’ve also been involved in projects like “Deliver Me From Nowhere” and the “Maze Runner” series. Wiig and Murray are taking on executive producer roles, as is Jillian Apfelbaum who has worked on films such as “The Mule” and “Late Night”, and Margot Hand who has been involved in movies like “Passing” and “Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar”.

I find it truly extraordinary when a tale transports me to realms that simultaneously tickle my funny bone, stir my emotions, and reflect the whimsical absurdities of our daily lives,” I’d express as an admirer. “The charm doubles when the spectral mentors are Bill Murray and Kristen Wiig. However, ‘Epiphany’ embodies such a rich tapestry of tone, insight, and cinematic potential, all while setting the stage for two already legendary, uniquely original unicorns in Kristen and Billy.

Wiig is handled by CAA, Murray by Nochimson Law, Barbakow by CAA, Range Media Partners, and Sloane, Offer Weber & Dern, Glazer by The Gotham Group, UTA, and Ziffren Brittenham, and The Gotham Group is managed by Davis Law Group.
