How to find the Medicine Book and cure Thomas in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

In the primary mission of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 titled “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” your task is to assume the role of a healer and aid Captain Thomas in his recovery. This is crucial for advancing in the game at this juncture.

Your adventure unfolds in the Trosky region following the wedding, where you’ll be escorted to the castle. Initially, locating Thomas proves challenging – this is no small feat. Once found, your task will be to heal him from his illness. Here are some steps to accomplish that.

How to find Captain Thomas in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To catch up with Captain Thomas, you’ll first need to assist the blacksmith by delivering charcoal sacks. Once you’ve done that, he’ll give you a task: crafting a horseshoe. Completing this task will allow you access to his workshop. After that, head towards the table, then move left, climb the stairs, and proceed to where the entrance is located.

You will come across two doors; proceed through the one located on the right side. Ensure that you conceal yourself effectively in the surrounding area. After you’ve entered the door on the right, ascend the stairs. Locate the door colored green to your left (easily noticeable) and proceed down the hallway it leads to. Eventually, you will find an exit from this room.

In this area, you’ll find a security officer, so be sure to squat down and conceal yourself well. Remember, there are many of them who move around, so tread carefully.

Shortly, another guard will stand in your way. Try tossing a rock to distract him from the stairs, clearing your path. Ascend and make your way to the upper room. In this room, you’ll encounter both Thomas and Adela. Engage in conversation with Adela to persuade her of your intent to assist.

How to heal Captain Thomas in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

As a devoted fan, I found myself tasked with concocting a remedy for our beloved Captain Thomas. To get the necessary ingredients, I suggest heading back to the bustling blacksmith area and looking towards its opposite side. You’ll spot a door tucked under a set of steps, and nearby, there’s a basket filled with fresh trout. Be sure to snag a few from the basket since you’ll need them in no time!

Make your way up to the higher level by climbing stairs, where you’ll encounter a guard. Give him the Dried Trout, and you should be safe. Proceed with caution since other guards might not appreciate a trout, and some may even pose a threat. Once you reach the side passageway, evade the patrolling guard to avoid detection.

After that, ascend the staircase and pass through the doorway, and you’ll enter a narrow corridor with two doors. Choose the door on your right-hand side, and you’ll discover an alchemist’s workstation inside. Additionally, there will be a woman you need to converse with, as well as a chest. At this juncture, a lockpick will become essential for further progress, which can be obtained by speaking with a worried lady close to the smithy and then conversing with the blacksmith.

Once you open the chest, you’ll find a few items. Make sure to collect them.

In this very room, there’s a book on a nearby shelf that contains the instructions for making Fever Tonic – a concoction crucial for curing our friend Thomas.

  • Take the wine from the shelf and add it to the cauldron.
  • Add three quantities of Feverfew, and boil the cauldron for two turns.
  • Add one quantity of Elderberry Leaves and grind before adding it to the cauldron. Next, add two quantities of Ginger and boil the mixture.
  • Once your potion is ready, take a vial and pour the mixture inside it.

Head back to Thomas for the medication, then a scene will unfold, wrapping up your task. Meanwhile, don’t forget to explore our tutorial on breaking open challenging and extremely difficult locks.
