Last week marked the start of the latest season for Destiny 2, but many gamers are still unaware of what seems to be the most powerful weapon introduced during Episode Heresy.
Obtainable through Crucible missions or by speaking with Lord Shaxx, Joxer’s Longsword is an exceptional Pulse Rifle that boasts a remarkable strength in Void damage. It’s a great choice for players who wish to maximize their Exotic weapon slot without wasting it.
This novel weapon not only employs the top-tier Heavy Burst frame for outstanding primary ammunition damage in PvE, but additionally boasts an extensive perk array featuring more than 140 distinct configurations.
Among the listed pairings, one particular combo stands out as exceptionally powerful. It empowers Joxer’s Longsword to assume the formidable status of an enhanced Graviton Lance, becoming particularly effective when utilized within a Void setup.
Joxer’s Longsword god roll – Meta analysis
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
- Perk 1: Dragonfly
- Perk 2: Destabilizing Rounds
- Masterwork: Stability/Reload Speed
It’s simply astonishing to have the capacity to launch both Dragonflies and Destabilizing Rounds from the same firearm! The Dragonfly creates a massive blast, followed by the Destabilizing Round adding another colossal explosion for good measure.
This two-part explosion technique is remarkably effective for clearing areas, making Joxer’s Longsword exceed most legendary weapons in its role. Moreover, Destabilizing Rounds received an upgrade in Episode Heresy, reducing its cooldown and providing the Volatile Rounds buff, allowing it to surpass Incandescent in performance.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that there are other weapons out there that share the same perks as this one, such as Age-Old Bond, Word of Crota, and Nessa’s Oblation. However, these alternatives come with archetypes that aren’t particularly effective in my experience. For instance, Age-Old Bond and Word of Crota don’t deliver the damage per second (DPS) I need, while Nessa’s Oblation is a Slug Shotgun, which isn’t ideal for clearing adds.
As a gamer, I’ve got to say, Heavy Burst Pulse Rifles are the go-to choice these days, closely resembling the performance of the Graviton Lance. This is particularly evident with Joxer’s Longsword, a Void weapon that boasts an impressive range and detonation triggers – just like its exotic version.
You can significantly amplify this impact by employing the abilities Volatile Marksman, Maligned Harvest, and Void Flux on your artifact. When all these are in use, you’ll consistently fire Volatile Rounds and weaken adversaries, boosting damage from every origin by 15%.
In the game “Heresy,” Joxer’s Longsword is exceptional, but it’s just one of many weapons worth experimenting with. The latest episode introduced some high-quality firearms, such as a Rocket Launcher that now outperforms the Apex Predator and an unsuspected Exotic weapon that makes defeating raid bosses surprisingly simple.
