Felicity Jones, Emma Corrin, Stephen Fry and Sharon Horgan Among Newport Beach Film Festival U.K. and Ireland Honorees

Actors Felicity Jones, Emma Corrin, Stephen Fry, and Sharon Horgan will receive recognition at the forthcoming Newport Beach Film Festival during their 2025 UK and Ireland Tribute ceremony.

Fry is set to receive the ICON Award, honoring his more than two decades of work in the film industry and memorable performances in productions like “Heartstopper,” “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” “The Dropout,” “V for Vendetta,” “Sherlock Holmes” and “The Hobbit” series. Previous winners of this award include Bill Nighy, Lesley Manville, and Richard E. Grant.

In the meantime, Jones, Corrin, and Horgan will be celebrated under the Artists of Distinction category. Jones garnered BAFTA and Oscar nominations for her performance in Brady Corbet’s “The Brutalist,” while Corrin has been seen lately in both “Nosferatu” and “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Horgan’s latest project was the Irish comedy show “Bad Sisters,” where she also serves as the creator and writer.

The Newport Beach Film Festival is thrilled to announce that four more exceptional talents from the UK and Ireland will be joining our honorees this year,” said Gary Sherwin, president and CEO of Visit Newport Beach. “Sir Stephen Fry, a true British gem, richly deserves the ICON award. Meanwhile, Emma Corrin, Felicity Jones, and Sharon Horgan have all shone in top-tier projects over the past year.

Four actors have been added to the list of “10 Brits to Watch” that EbMaster (who collaborates with the Newport Beach Film Festival) previously announced. This group includes Ava Wong Davies, Erin Kellyman, Mia Tharia, Michelle de Swarte, Nabhaan Rizwan, Rich Peppiatt, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Varada Sethu, and Xander Parish. These individuals will all be recognized at the upcoming event.

This year, I’m looking forward to attending the UK and Ireland Honors ceremony, which I understand will be held on February 13th at Raffles London at The OWO. The event is being hosted by Edith Bowman and Cat Deeley, and it promises to be an exciting evening!
