Two players from the M80’s elite Rainbow Six Siege squad were disqualified from the annual grand tournament of 2025, the Six Invitational, following their defeat and an escalation in temperament.
The pinnacle of a year’s worth of competition in the Rainbow Six Siege community is reached at the Six Invitational, an event that stands out on the calendar. This year, the top 20 teams from across the globe have gathered at Fenway Park in Boston with the ambition to not only lift the iconic sledgehammer but also to secure the largest portion of a $3 million prize pool.
As the tournament moves into its playoff round, tensions seem to be escalating beyond acceptable limits for some players, as they appear to be overstepping the boundaries set by the rules.
On February 9, 2025, US organizations M80 and DarkZero faced off for the first round. The match was intense and competitive, but it was DarkZero who emerged victorious. M80’s coach wasn’t satisfied with the outcome and confronted players from the opposing team, leading to his removal from the game.

Pro Rainbow Six coach & manager kicked from Six Invitational 2025
I kicked off the game with a powerful start, dominating the first map to secure a commanding 7-1 victory. However, DarkZero retaliated in the following map, leveling the series.
As a passionate fan, I must admit that the third and decisive map presented some unusual circumstances. DarkZero was unexpectedly granted a round victory, not due to their superior strategy or skill, but because M80’s coach violated a rule. This seemingly didn’t sit well with him, as he became increasingly agitated during the match. When the series eventually ended in favor of DarkZero, his frustration boiled over. He didn’t hesitate to voice his displeasure, going so far as to physically approach the opposing team members, pushing them aggressively.
During a heated moment, M80 coach Matheus ‘Budego’ Figueiredo approached DZ player Nathan ‘Nafe’ Sharp from behind, as Nafe wasn’t looking in that direction. The situation escalated to the point where two tournament referees had to intervene and separate them.
Shortly thereafter, it was decided to eliminate the role of Budego, and this action was taken. Simultaneously, Igor Vivas, M80 team manager, was escorted out of the premises as well. It has been revealed that an investigation into their behavior is now ongoing, according to Rainbow Six authorities.
As a passionate follower, I couldn’t help but share my dismay on X (previously known as Twitter) following today’s game. The events that unfolded both during and afterwards left me utterly shocked. It’s entirely unacceptable.
I’m deeply sorry to the players, spectators, Ubisoft team members, and Dark Zero; I’m utterly disappointed with how M80 was portrayed today. I truly find it hard to express my feelings.
Deeply dismayed and taken aback by the events during and following the game today. Totally unjustifiable.
Apologies to the players, spectators, Ubisoft employees, and Dark Zero for what occurred. I’m at a loss for words about how M80 conducted themselves today. Simply put, I’m ashamed.

In the meantime, Budego defended himself on social media, claiming his innocence during the altercation. He stated emphatically, “I didn’t lay a hand on anyone.” He added that Nafe instigated the incident, leading to his banishment, while the other individual physically attacked him without any retaliation from Budego.
He went on to say, ‘I’m being penalized for actions I didn’t take.’ He insists that he hasn’t done anything wrong, but instead, he’s being unfairly singled out by someone in authority. In his opinion, Ubisoft is at fault.
As for Nafe, he simply took to X with laughing emojis, brushing off the altercation.
the dude literally hits me while i didnt even touch the guy. Its all recorded, and shown

It’s not the first time Coach Budego has encountered rules, as he has had some difficulties adhering to them in the past. In the year 2022, he faced a 12-month ban for repeatedly violating the rules established within the scene.
