The character Ross expresses that “They’ve taken a break!” when discussing the absence of The Bachelorette for the summer of 2025. Although the series isn’t officially canceled, it has paused production temporarily and will come back at some point in the future. To fill the gap, Bachelor in Paradise is set to air next within the franchise, having also recently taken a brief hiatus to make space for the limited-run series Golden Bachelor. It’s just part of the cycle that different spin-offs need to take turns. This isn’t the first time that The Bachelorette has put its rose-giving on hold; it took a three-year break from 2005-2008 before resuming as an annual event. Currently, ABC is airing The Bachelor, starring Grant Ellis— a heads up to any women in his season who might be holding out for a second opportunity at love, as we’re still only two episodes into it.
