‘The Bachelorette’ Is Skipping a Summer: No New Female Lead Following Grant Ellis’ ‘Bachelor’ Season

There won’t be a new season of “The Bachelorette” this summer, EbMaster has learned.

This year, instead of ABC’s usual routine where “The Bachelor” airs in the spring followed by “The Bachelorette” featuring one of the contestants from the previous season in the summer, things are different. So, if any of the women competing for Grant Ellis’ affection on the current season have potential to become a future star within the franchise, they’ll have to wait until next year. At this point, it’s unclear why “The Bachelorette” has been postponed.

Beyond “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette,” the popular reality dating series also encompasses “Bachelor in Paradise,” set to air its first new season in two years this summer. Additionally, there are fresh spins-off titled “The Golden Bachelor” and “The Golden Bachelorette,” focusing on mature singles. The former, “The Golden Bachelor,” made its debut in 2023 with Gerry Turner as the lead, while “The Golden Bachelorette,” headed by Joan Vassos (previously a contestant on Turner’s season), was introduced to audiences soon after. At present, no decisions have been made regarding renewals or new cast members for these spin-offs.

Ellis became the chosen star for “The Bachelor” following his departure from “The Bachelorette” Season 2028, with Jenn Tran as the leading lady. The premiere of his season aired on January 27th.

Unscripted Television, in collaboration with Warner Horizon. I’m particularly impressed by the dedication of executive producers like Bennett Graebner, Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich, Tim Warner, and Peter Gust, who play a significant role in shaping these beloved series.
