Blue Harbor Acquires U.S. Distribution Rights to Historical Biopic ‘Audrey’s Children’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Blue Harbor Entertainment has obtained the rights to distribute ‘Audrey’s Children’, directed by Ami Canaan Mann, across the United States starting March 28. This film is based on real events and follows Dr. Audrey Evans, portrayed by Natalie Dormer, who made history in 1969 as the first female head of Oncology at the globally recognized Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

As described in the movie summary, “Audrey’s Children” chronicles Evans’ journey as she confronts sexism, challenges traditional medical practices, and uncovers deceit from her colleagues. This journey leads her to create the first Neuroblastoma Staging System, co-found the Ronald McDonald House for patient families, and ultimately touch the lives of countless children worldwide. Following years of partnership and advocacy for the film, Evans passed away just two weeks into the actual filming.

According to Mann, Dr. Evans was like a powerful natural element, showing great persistence and determination. Moreover, she always prioritized the welfare of children in all her actions. Mann described her as a guiding light, someone who truly embodies the right way to navigate through life. Upon learning about her life story, Mann felt compelled to share it, saying, “Yes, this is a tale I must help spread.

When ‘Audrey’s Children’ crossed my path, I was stunned that Dr. Evans wasn’t already universally recognized,” expressed Dormer. “Her impact resonated globally, transforming countless lives. The opportunity to portray such an extraordinary figure was an honor I couldn’t refuse, and I knew I had to seize the role right away.

The main character, played by Dormer, is joined by a talented ensemble cast featuring Jimmi Simpson, Clancy Brown, and Brandon Michael Hall. Fisher Farbman from Emblem Entertainment wrote the script for this movie and also served as its producer, along with Bradley Gallo and Michael Helfant from Amasia Entertainment. Resonate Entertainment’s Susan Cartsonis, Suzanne Farwell, Brent Emery, Clement Bauer, Michael Leahy from Strike Accord are the executive producers.

According to the producers, “Audrey’s Children” was created with fervent backing from Ronald McDonald House Charities and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
